Long ago, a knight named Sir Miles traveled all of England. He searched for adventure and challenges. One day, when he was traveling through a dark forest, he came upon a bridge with a black shield and hammer at one end, a menacing black castle, and a tree full of what seemed to be knight's shields. He noticed a sign that read " Whoever strikes this shield will lose their life". Accepting the challenge he struck the shield with a mighty blow. The sound rang throughout the castle. Almost immediately a knight with black armor rode out of the gigantic castle. The mysterious knight bellowed " Who is foolish enough to challenge me?". " I am!" replied Sir Miles "Now prepare to lose." the two knights charged each other, Sir Miles' spear broke on contact with the other knight's armor, however, the knight's spear threw Sir Miles off his horse. The knight jumped off his horse and attacked Sir Miles. Sir Miles and the knight traded blows, until the knight delivered a mighty blow, sending Sir Miles spiraling off his horse, and landed unconscious. The knight claiming victory, took Sir Miles shield, and threw it into the tree with all his other trophies. Sir Miles' squire loaded him onto his horse and rode off to Camelot.
"King Arthur!" cried a guard. "There is an injured knight approaching the castle!" "Let them in." said King Arthur.
